Testimonials + What Our Community is Saying…
I am so grateful for having found connections with warm, caring ladies in the Queen’s Corner Support Group. I have been blind for many years, but as I entered the “empty nest” phase of my life, it has been so wonderful to find friendship and support with other ladies in the blind community and feel more socially active again. I especially love the monthly group meetings, book club, and fitness group. I have learned new things about technology and started getting back out to participate in group activities. Love this group!
J. Laurie / Concord, NC
I came across the Queens Corner while strolling through Facebook one day, and I was empowered by the post and the positivity of the group. The first time I attended a meeting, I felt the love and the support from everyone. They constantly remind me that though I may be a blind woman, I still have vision and that I should always stand upright, straighten my crown, and live life to the fullest.

Joining Queen’s Corner Support Group has been one of the best parts of my move to Charlotte. Their mission to provide a safe, supportive environment for women with low vision and blindness truly shines through in everything they do. From the moment I connected with them on Facebook, I was welcomed with warmth and kindness by an incredible group of women. I’ve loved participating in the book club and movie club, and I’ve gained valuable resources—from technology training to information about other local organizations. We’ve even shared wonderful in-person moments, including a fabulous meal together. Queen’s Corner not only offers fun and friendship, but also empowers its members through education, technology, and wellness opportunities. I’m so grateful for this community and look forward to many more enriching experiences ahead.

When I moved to Charlotte shortly after I lost much of my vision, I was introduced to Queen’s Corner by a mutual friend. Right off the bat, they welcomed me warmly. I was impressed with the resources and clubs they offered and how organized and deeply entrenched in the community they are! Queen’s Corner Support Group is exactly what its name says: a group that lends and maintains support for any dreams and goals you have. They take you by the hand, nurture you, and help build your confidence. They see you. You become comfortable in your own skin, and it radiates out into the world! How do I know all this, you might ask? I know, because I’ve experienced it! Kim Little, Queen’s Corner Member since January 2024
K. Little / Charlotte, NC
Queen’s Corner is a wonderful opportunity for women to support other women who are low vision and blind. I find this group very inspiring and I love the different committees that are committed to helping this group. The support group every month is an opportunity for women to talk about issues of the current day and time, as well as supporting our vision issues. Great job, Queen’s Corner!
